Before the New Season 2003/2004

          The dance season of 2002/2003 is already in the past. Another Polish Championships in all categories are also part of the history. A lot of interesting and new pairs entered the world of the dance competition. In January in Lublin the kingdom of the ten amateur dances was overtaken by a very nice Poznan couple - Blanka Winiarska and Marek Fiksa. They were nineteenth at the International Championships in Canada. We believe that this result does not reflect the amount of work they devoted to such a difficult thing as competing in both styles on the high professional level.

          Then the beginning of March in Elbląg - the Polish Championships in Ballroom Dances. We watched the competition of the young couples - under 21- particularly with great attention as in a half-year-time they were going to compete in the International Championships in Bydgoszcz. It was the first time in the history of dance that such a big event was going to take place in Poland. I remember very well all the actions taken by Roman Glazik - the chairman of the Sport and Social Dance Promotion Fund - and Marek Sienkiewicz - former PTT (Polish Dance Association) chairman. They had overcome a lot of obstacles to make IDSF allow us to organize this event. In Elblag it turned out that Paulina Glazik and Vaidotas Lacitis could play a major role in the upcoming World Championships. Paulina, after parting from Przemek Juszkiewicz, found an equally talented and even more successful Lithuanian. Przemek sells his skills for Great Britain. There in London he will still be able to use his favourite teacher's (Justyna Kozinska's) help.

          Justyna also found her dance fulfilment in England and today together with Craig Draper she successfully dances professional standard for the Britons. The second pair in the youth category is also well-known for quite good Latin dances. They are Katarzyna Kapral and Kamil Urbaniak.. We are looking forward to both pairs' presentation in Bydgoszcz.
